James Harman

Jim Harman brings 41 years of experience in the planning, programming, and design of large-scale healthcare projects across the firm. In his 19 years at ZGF, Jim has proven himself as an effective manager, planner, and designer of a range of medical facilities, including long range master plans, inpatient towers, and ambulatory care / outpatient buildings. Jim’s recent project experience includes Teck Acute Care Centre at BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre in Vancouver, BC; St. Anthony Hospital in Gig Harbor, Washington; the Cymbaluk Tower for Providence Medical Center in Everett, Washington; North Carolina Cancer Hospital for UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; numerous renovations for the University of Washington Medical Center; and Children’s Hospital of Saskatoon. Jim is a published author of several articles on advancements in operating suites, including hybrid ORs. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Architecture from Harvard University.
