Kristin Crain has been a leader in marketing, business development, and public relations for the architecture and design field for more than 15 years. As the Director of Marketing for the Portland office, she collaborates with ZGF’s partners, principals, and designers to develop strategies and build teams for the pursuit of work that meets the firm’s mission and design aspirations. With degrees from the University of Kansas in journalism and sociology, her approach is rooted in investigation, storytelling, and human context—understanding a client’s core culture to help determine what can make them successful via the built environment. Her successful endeavors include work for Clif Bar; Google; Nike; the University of California, Berkeley; and the U.S. State Department. Kristin is actively involved in the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and her work has been recognized with a National Marketing Communications Award. She is a graduate of the Business for Culture and the Arts Leadership Program, and is an instructor for the University of Oregon's School of Architecture and Allied Arts’ Context of the Profession.
