Patrick Cotter is a Partner of ZGF and the Managing Partner of our Vancouver office. He has practiced architecture for over 25 years and currently provides design leadership for a wide range of our projects, including large scale Residential, Mixed-use, Senior’s Living and Transportation projects, as well as Urban Design Guidelines and Community Master Plans. Distinguished for his design of innovative and award-winning projects, Patrick has established a reputation for his commitment to design excellence, understanding of market dynamics, clear communication across multiple stakeholder groups, and skillful management of public consultation and municipal approval processes. Applying his understanding of current trends influencing mixed-use and residential design, Patrick leads our project teams to create unique and meaningful architecture utilizing consistent and open communication, collaboration, and his excellent management skills. Although each process is unique to each client and project, the common goal is to understand the objectives, stimulate interaction, reach consensus on a shared vision, and broad public acceptance of the proposed solution. With an in-depth and broad understanding of urban design, public realm, and placemaking, Patrick brings a unique perspective to each and every project. This multi-disciplinary, holistic approach is reflected in every aspect of a building in its fit within the community, its function, and relationship to users.
