Sharron van der Meulen
A talented designer, Sharron has been a driving force in blurring the lines between architecture and interiors, intent on influencing a holistic user experience. Now, as ZGF’s Managing Partner, she takes up the firm’s mantle, rooted in the belief that design can solve some of the world’s greatest challenges and make a difference in peoples’ lives. Sharron’s award-winning design portfolio has reflected ZGF’s diverse practice, spanning typologies from workplace, healthcare and research buildings, to cultural, higher education, and aviation facilities, including most recently, doubling the footprint of Portland International Airport while maintaining its uniquely Portland character. Her humanistic approach to design is based first and foremost on understanding a client’s mission, aspirations, and culture. Each solution is authentic and unique to that client’s story. She ultimately views her firmwide leadership role as one of advocacy for design excellence throughout all aspects of a project.
