Taka Soga
Taka Soga has 26 years of experience on a wide variety of projects that span across a spectrum of climates and cultures. His design perspective is inspired by work that synthesizes the perspectives of passionate and diverse people resulting in functional and beautiful buildings that serve clients and communities alike. Some of Taka’s notable projects include master planning work for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the design of a premier life sciences building for BioMed Realty Trust in Seattle, Washington; the Iowa State University, Biorenewables Complex in Ames, Iowa; and the University of Minnesota, Physics and Nanotechnology Building in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Taka maintains deep ties to the academic community. He serves on the professional advisory committee at the University of Washington and as a visiting lecturer and critic at Washington and Oregon institutions of higher education. He received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Reed College and a Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon, and has studied abroad in Italy and Japan.
