As a design partner in Seattle, Allyn Stellmacher provides design leadership for a wide variety of projects in both the public and private sectors, many of which have been complex and multi-phased, and have required working closely with user groups throughout design to build consensus among stakeholder groups. During the last two decades at ZGF, Allyn has played a significant role in the design of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center campus, which involved working closely with multiple stakeholders throughout design to integrate diverse laboratory and research programs into an integrated sustainable campus environment. He led the design of an environmentally sensitive, integrated science facility at the University of Alaska, Anchorage, and the U.S. General Service Administration’s Federal Center South Building 1202 in Seattle, both of which demanded high-performance building goals. Allyn’s project involvement has demonstrated his sensitivity to the use and detailing of appropriate sustainable materials, building systems, and technologies to optimize design quality within established budgets, and to meet or exceed sustainability goals. Allyn graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Architecture.
