In this new article, the Business Tribune covers our new NV building, named after the French phrase translating to “I want no other.” ZGF, in association with Ankrom Moisan, designed The NV, a 26-story, 376,634 SF, full-block, mixed-use residential tower in Portland’s popular Pearl District. Once completed the project will include 284-for-rent apartments featuring full views of downtown and the Willamette River, ground-floor retail, and an adjoining landscaped public plaza. Designed to appeal to residents seeking a Pearl address at the neighborhood scale, The NV is grounded by a richly hued and substantial clinker brick podium consistent with the city grid and reflecting the neighborhood’s warehouse district history. The tower will have floor to ceiling windows to optimize views and enhance privacy for tenants. Clad in textured and colored stainless steel shingles, which capture and reflect the changing light, the tower’s contemporary design and orientation embraces and visually defines the river’s linkage to the community while adding an element of surprise at the northern gateway to the district. The NV is pursuing LEED-Silver certification and opens later this fall.
