The first annual Real Estate Trends Conference Awards Program, a newly added conference component that highlights innovative development under way in the Metropolitan Washington Region, recognized six innovative projects that contributed to the enhancement of vibrant neighborhoods, exemplified creative problem solving, and celebrated visionary thinking. 1200 Seventeenth, planned and designed by ZGF, was among the nights honorees–receiving the Excellence in Office Development Award.
The LEED-Platinum certified, 170,000 SF Class-A office building features a column-free floor plate, with an unmatched ratio of exterior wall to floor area, providing an optimal workplace for professional services organizations. This open, efficient layout was a decisive factor in the building being 65% pre-leased prior to its completion. The primary tenant, New York-based law firm Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, occupies over 105,000 SF.
The Real Estate Trends Conference, ULI Washington’s signature event for the past 17 years, features local and national speakers and provides a crash course on where the real estate industry is now and where it is headed. The theme for the 2015 conference was “Common Ground: Building Partners, Projects and Potential.”
