Known as The Assembly, ZGF and Wexford Science & Technology has adapted a historic Ford Motor Company factory in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and transformed it into a biomedical research laboratory for The University of Pittsburgh. The project included renovating existing structures and creating a cantilevered terracotta-clad addition. Dezeen interviewed Deanna Keil on how the team reimagined a historic industrial relic into a hub of medical discovery.
