With 30 years of experience, Otto Condon is an Urban Design Principal in ZGF’s Washington, DC office. Originally from Minnesota, Otto has lived and worked across the country, including periods in Boston, Seattle, Portland, Chicago, and Washington, DC. He is a well-known figure within the planning and urban design community of Washington, DC, leading public meetings and neighborhood working groups, while also cultivating relationships with individuals from District and Federal agencies, Business Improvement Districts, and community organizations. Otto’s urban design experience includes collaborations with the National Capital Planning Commission, U.S. General Services Administration, City and County of Denver Public Works, and the DC Department of Transportation. Otto frequently shares his urban design and architectural expertise with the local community and has led walking tours of Columbia Heights, the U Street Corridor, and Downtown Ward 7. His commitment to sustainable design extends beyond work—he has installed solar panels on the roof of his home that work so efficiently they actually put power back onto the grid. Otto received a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Colorado, Boulder and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from the University of Washington.
