Kari Thorsen
For Kari Thorsen, every project is an opportunity to change how healthcare organizations approach the delivery of compassionate, healing and community-focused care. One of her favorite parts of working in healthcare design is speaking to patients, families and staff about how a new project can improve their experience. Combining these insights with each client’s unique culture, aspirations, challenges and needs, Kari always strikes a balance between the functional requirements of the project, community context, and therapeutic elements of nature to support the healing environment. In 2019, she was recognized among Building Design + Construction’s 40 Under 40. In 2017, she was recognized among Healthcare Design’s HCD 10 as Interior Designer of the year and Interior Design’s HiP Awards as Healthcare Design Leader.
